Red Ribbon Week 2017
Monday, October 16th – Friday, October 20th
Running Springs will celebrate Red Ribbon Week by promoting participation in fun daily activities. Please encourage your student to take part in these activities as a way to remind them they have the POWER to be drug free and are TOO SMART TO START!
Red Ribbon Week wristbands were distributed to the students on Monday, 10/16, and your student can get discounts and free stuff for wearing their wristband! A list of business offering perks for students wearing their wristbands this month can be found here. This offer is valid until 10/29.
Here’s the list of activities for the week:
Monday, October 16th: “Lei Off Drugs!” Students wear Hawaiian shirts or lei. (PTA will be handling out leis to students)
Tuesday, October 17th: “Team up against Drugs!” Students wear their favorite team sport shirts.
Wednesday, October 18th: “I’m Drug Free from my Head to my Toes!” Students wear CRAZY hair and socks.
Thursday, October 19th: “I’m Too Bright to do Drugs!” Students wear neon clothes, hats, and sunglasses.
Friday, October 20th: “Give Drugs the Boot!” Students wear western theme clothes.
(No Halloween costumes. No tank tops. No inappropriate length shorts. Appropriate school shoes are required and all other standard OUSD dress code rules apply.)
In addition, we will be decorating the school on Sunday, October 15th at 4:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to come out and help! We will meet in front of the MPR.
Take this week to remind your child…THE BEST ME IS DRUG FREE!
Thank you for your support!
