Hello Running Springs Families!

I am so excited to be your new PTA President this year! Here’s some info about me. I have served on the PTA board in the capacity as the Executive Vice President, 2nd Vice President of Ways and Means, and have been chairperson for Family Fun Night, Red Ribbon Week, Reflections, and the Directory. I have a 6th grader and a 3rd grader here at Running Springs. I have been here for many years and still have a few more to go. I have to say that we have a great community here at Running Springs Elementary and I am proud to be a Redhawk parent. We have great teachers as well as an amazing staff. My heart is here and will stay at Running Springs for many more years.

This year, I have the honor of working with a passionate group of parents on our Executive Board and in our Chairmen Positions. There is a great mix of returning parents and new enthusiastic parents that will continue the strong PTA involvement at Running Springs! On behalf of all these volunteers, we know we can’t do any of this without YOU!!! It takes a village to raise these kids so don’t be shy about signing up to help with the many activities the PTA provides the students here at Running Springs. We encourage you to complete the Volunteer Interest Form. There are many different activities you can volunteer for from helping out in the classroom or by helping out at our Family Fun Nights. There is a volunteer position for you. So please complete the form so we know where you’d like to help or contact any of us directly (we don’t bite, at least most of us don’t)!

From purchasing your Yearbook to volunteering, all our First Day Packet information is available online on our website. The First Day Packet will be available on August 20th. Watch for an “open” announcement on the website. With the hope of “Going Green”, you will be able to select your items of interest and pay instantly online! You also have the option of paying by check, but you will still need to complete your basic information online and the appropriate forms will be emailed to you to complete, print and be returned to school with one check. Please note that all forms and payments (via online or by check) must be completed and/or returned by Friday, September 13th.

The PTA will be doing our ONE and ONLY fundraiser for the year…the 10th Annual Run-A-Thon. With YOUR generous donations we are able to fund our entire PTA budget with this one fundraiser. Where does your money go you ask? Our PTA provides a number of valuable programs for our children such as educational grade level assemblies, a PE teacher, a Technology Specialist, Art Masters, Know Your States, the Reflections Program, the Talent Show, our fall Family Fun Night, Valentine Bingo Family Fun Night, and many other activities and programs. The PTA has provided numerous Chrome carts for the school and is instrumental in bringing RUDY the Redhawk to Running Springs. The PTA is also the major contributor to the school’s new electronic marquee. In previous years, we have had only 50% participation. Let’s change that. We are a great school and our kids deserve the best so please make a grand effort in helping us reach our goal. EVERY Dollar Counts…so no amount is too small to donate…it ALL adds up! ALL the money raised directly benefits our kids. How cool would it be to have your business, family or child’s name on the back of the Run-A-Thon shirts worn by every kid in the school? It would be “So Cool!” With a $100 donation or above, your child’s name will be proudly displayed where they can show their family and friends. ($100 donations must be received no later than Friday, September 13th to be included on the T-shirts.) In fact, it’s as simple as asking 10 people for a $10 donation. We encourage everyone to come out on September 27th to encourage your child and volunteer during this fun event!

To help support the PTA, don’t forget to purchase your PTA memberships. From moms and dads to students and grandparents…everyone can join! We are blessed to have so many dedicated volunteers at our school, and we welcome EVERYONE to be part of the PTA!!! Join us for our monthly PTA meetings the 2nd Thursday of the month (excluding September).

We’ll have refreshments and tissues (for the parents who aren’t quite ready for the first day of school), and we’d love to meet you!

Next PTA Meeting

PTA Meeting

Our next PTA meeting will be on Thursday, 10/10/19 at 8:15AM in the MPR. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. We'll have breakfast munchies, too! If you'd like to sign up to bring snacks, please click on the schoolhouse icon above. We hope to see you there!

There will not be a PTA meeting in September.
