Dear Running Springs Families,
I hope everyone had a relaxing Thanksgiving break! December snuck up on us quickly! There are a lot of activities to pack into the next 3 weeks before the Winter Break.
First up is December Crafts and it will be back in the MPR this year after having fun take home kits the last two years. If you are new to December Crafts here is a little run down: December Crafts is right after school on Tuesday, December 6th, and Wednesday, December 7th, with multiple craft tables set around the MPR. Students can purchase tickets for $1 a piece at the door the day of the event. Each craft table will have a ticket amount associated with that activity between 1-3 tickets. The kids love the different crafts (painting, drawing, stickers, etc.) associated with the holidays. Many students love to give them as gifts and we will again have a gift wrap station available. Please bring cash and small bills to the event (suggest $5-$10). If you would like to volunteer to help at a craft table please visit our December Crafts page.
Next up is our PTA meeting that will be a Holiday Potluck and gift exchange! It will be on Thursday, December 8th at 8:15AM in the MPR. Everyone is invited and we hope you can attend! If you plan to attend, please RSVP on our website so we know how many to expect and consider bringing your favorite holiday breakfast dish. The gift exchange will be after our meeting. Bring a White Elephant gift valued at no more than $20 if you want to participate. And wear your favorite holiday sweater!
Lastly, students will finish the 2022 portion of the school year with their annual classroom Holiday Parties on Friday, December 16th. Watch your email for detailed information from your room parents. Throwing parties is a big job, and your donations are always greatly appreciated. Your support helps ensure that classroom parties are fun and memorable for all students. Thank you to Kristin C. for handling all of our Room Parent coordinating.
Thank you to Stephanie Templeton for chairing Red Ribbon Week! We hope your scholars enjoyed the theme days. The mustache Monday might be the new favorite! All the red ribbons around the school were a good reminder to be Drug Free! Thanks to everyone who came out to help decorate the front of the school.
Thank you to Ariz C. for chairing Reflections! I would like to congratulate our Award of Excellence trophy winners who will move onto the next level of the contest, the OUC PTA:

Reminders: Talent Show auditions are in January and Know Your States in February! The Winter Break (December 17th to January 8th) is a great time to prepare your talent and practice your states and capitals. Have a fun and wonderful winter break! As always, thank you to all of our parents who do so much for our school. I wish all Running Springs families a happy holiday season!
