Hello Running Springs Families! My name is Nicole Jahne and I’m excited to be the PTA President this year. This is my 3rd year on the PTA and I am hopeful that I will be able to meet many more of you on campus this year. I have two daughters at Runnings Springs and they are in 3rd grade and 5th grade. Our family is proud to be Redhawks.
If you’re new to our school, you’ll quickly learn that we have a warm, welcoming community here at Running Springs Elementary. We have fantastic teachers and an amazing staff. This year I have the honor of working with a passionate group of parents on our Executive Board and in our Chairmen positions. There is a great mix of returning parents and new enthusiastic parents on our PTA team. Our PTA is still in need of a couple chairmen to lead an enrichment program. From purchasing your yearbook to PTA membership, all our First Day Packet information is available online on our website at RunningSpringsPTA.org. For your convenience we’ve made it possible for you to make your purchases online or you can pay with a check. Please note that all forms and payments must be submitted by Friday, September 9th. The First Day Packet includes PTA Membership, Birthday Book & Banner Club, Room Parent Volunteers, Yearbook (must be purchased through our publisher with a link found on our runningspringspta.org website), and 13th Annual Run-A-Thon Donations. The First Day Packet will be open on August 15th.
The PTA will be doing our BIGGEST fundraiser for the year, the 13th Annual Run-A-Thon, in September! Our plan is to hold a Run-A-Thon for the students with parents and volunteers cheering on the students with each lap they run. More information will be emailed in the near future. With YOUR generous donations we are able to fund our entire PTA budget with this one fundraiser. Where does your money go you ask? Here are just some of the events/activities/school necessities the PTA provides with your generous donations:

EVERY dollar counts…no amount is too small…it ALL adds up! ALL the money raised goes straight back to benefiting our kids. Your donations helped to provide much needed sanitation equipment for the janitors and at the end of school last year, the PTA was able to provide additional bench seating which the students will enjoy near the playground and in the shade for recess.
To help support the PTA, don’t forget to purchase your PTA memberships. We welcome EVERYONE to be part of the PTA!!! Please join us for our first PTA meeting of the new school year on Thursday, August 18th after morning drop-off. We’ll be meeting in the MPR (multipurpose room). We will hold our monthly PTA meetings the 2nd Thursday of the month (excluding September), and will be meeting in the MPR. We encourage everyone to sign up for our News & Information mailing list. You can find it on our website, RunningSpringsPTA.org. Check our website frequently and follow us on social media to keep up with what’s going on at school and with the PTA. The PTA cannot grow and thrive without volunteers, so we look forward to meeting YOU!!! Volunteers are the key to having successful events and programs so we hope you consider getting involved! It’s fun and a great opportunity to get to know other RS families. Please join us at our annual Meet & Greet on the first day of school at 8:00AM right after you drop of your student!
